<p>PURPOSE:To provide an emergency stop mechanism which has a simple construc tion and makes a backrest board of a bed enter an emergency stop state by providing an obstruction detector on the rear face of the backrest board. CONSTITUTION:A backrest board 4 is mounted on a bed frame via brackets 3, and provided with wire supports 6 in the corners. Wires 7 are stretched on both sides of the backrest board 4 facing the bed frame and along edges 5 of the backrest board 4 via the wire supports 6. A limit switch 8 is connected to an end of the wire 7 and turned on by an abnormal tension of the wire 7 to stop the action of a motor-driven backrest board raising mechanism. An elastic material is applied to the wire supports 6. The constitution of the mechanism is simple enough to allow adapting it to existing beds without difficulties in respect to cost.</p> |
