摘要 |
PURPOSE:To easily produce poly(3-hydroxybutyric acid) and it derivative in high efficiency in a short time independent of the kind of microbial strain by culturing a microbial strain satisfying a specific condition in an aerobic aqueous medium containing a carbohydrate as a carbon source. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain to be used in the present process is growable by using glycolic acid as exclusive carbon source, has a growth rate of >=2g/l per day based on the weight of dried cell in the logarithmic growth phase by a batch culture using an aerobic aqueous medium containing sucrose as a carbon source and containing inorganic nitrogen and inorganic phosphorus and is capable of producing poly(3-hydroxybutyric acid) [preferably new bacillus bacteria NKF200 (FERM P-12883)]. The strain is cultured in an aerobic aqueous medium containing a carbohydrate as a carbon source to obtain the objective compound. The cultivation is preferably carried out at pH7-7.5 and 25-37 deg.C for 1-7 days under aerobic condition. |
