PURPOSE: To improve shaving performance and to reduce the development of vibration and noise by covering a motor with a sheath, forming recesses on both side surfaces with the boundary of cutting blade edges on the cutting blade lamellae of a cutting blade body structure and providing a means for the setting or the like of a specified cutting blade angle to the cutting blade edge. CONSTITUTION: In this electric shaver, a razor head 5 provided with a razor fail 7 and a cutting blade body structure 8 having cutter lamellae 19 is attached to a housing 2. Between the cutting blade body structure 8 and a rotary type motor 23, a transmission mechanism 31 is equipped for driving the cutting blade body structure 8 by converting the rotating motions of a motor shaft 30 to reciprocating motions. In this case, the motor 23 is set to the nominal operating speed of 8,000 to 10,000 rpm and covered with a sheath 32 on an elastic material. On the other hand, a balance weight 52 is added to the transmission mechanism 31. Concerning the cutter lamellae 19, recesses 57 and 58 are formed on both side surfaces 55 and 56 on the boundary of cutting blade edges 53 and 54. Further, the recesses 57 and 58 are extended parallel to the cutting blade edges 53 and 54 and a cutting blade angleβsmaller than 90 deg. is set to the cutting blade edges 53 and 54.
