PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a flexible superconductor wire. CONSTITUTION: A wire base 22 is drawn from a feed speed control spool 12 to a wire winding spool 16 through a processing area 28, and wire passes through a solution 38 containing a diffusion barrier material in the processing area, where a diffusion barrier is formed on the wire base and sintered in a furnace 68. Further the wire passes through a solution 38a containing a superconductor material, where a superconductor layer is formed on the diffusion barrier, with particles of the superconductor layer magnetically aligned by a magnet 72 and baked in a furnace 68a. The wire further passes through a solution 38b containing silver, where a protective coating of silver is formed on the superconductor layer and baked in a furnace 68b. The wire further passes through a solution 38c containing a diffusion inhibitor, where a diffusion inhibition layer is formed on the silver coating, is baked in a furnace 66c, and coiled around the winding spool 16. Thereafter, the coiled wire is heated to oxidize the superconductor layer. |
