CODING AND DECODING DEVICE FOR MOVING IMAGE

摘要

PURPOSE:To implement DCT without deteriorating the compression efficiency when a moving image being a video signal converted from a movie signal through pull-down is coded/decoded. CONSTITUTION:A pull-down detection circuit 1 detects fields in duplicate in a video signal in the unit of fields and outputs a field mode signal. The field mode signal is fed to a scan converter 2, a field sequence replacement circuit 3 and an adaptive coder 4, and the frame/field processing capable of to implementing DCT processing to fields in duplicate is selected without deteriorating the compression efficiency.
