摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To provide an active matrix type liquid crystal display device and its driving method in which smear does not occur and displayed picture quality is good in any state of a displayed picture. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a matrix substrate 1 which is provided with many scanning lines 2, many signal lines 3 perpendicularly intersecting with scanning lines, thin film transistors 4 arranged at intersection of each scanning line 2 and each signal line 3, and liquid crystal cells 5, a scanning side driving circuit 6 which supplies scanning signals to each scanning line 2, a signal side driving circuit 7 which supplies display signals to each signal lines 3, a polarity inversion circuit 8 which supplies a polarity inversion setting signal to the signal side driving circuit 7, and a phase adjusting circuit 9 which adjusts relative phase of a picture signal and a horizontal synchronizing signal, wherein, display signals of each signal line 3 comprise cancel voltage in which a signal supplied at 1H immediately before each 1H is inverted in polarity and writing voltage supplied at each 1H.</p>
