The protective casing covers the transfer rail and associated mechanism of the aerial cable, suspension, acceleration, deceleration and circulatory system of clutched cabins or chair lifts. The closed loop cable and transfer rail may only have a section covered, between stations. The casing base is slotted for the suspension (26), the slot edged by a flexible inflatable tube (41,42). Inflation pressure is adjustable, the tube opening or closing the slot, with deflation or inflation. The tube may have various shapes and the casing end panels (39) have inflatable closures (43,46).
