A process for the adjustment of a steam supply in a continuous run of textile material, in a fluid and steaming installation. The volume of steam is regulated according to the fluid content of the textile material. The appts. is also claimed. The installation consists of a chamber (1) with base (2) having an inlet (3) and outlet (4), for the run of textile material (6). This is draped over rollers (5) and hangs in the interior (8) in an atmosphere of steam from the inlet (14). The steam limit (7) is attained by a double wall formation (1') and outlet (36).
