The fastener has a block (2) with two hooks (8) opposite each other and along the theoretical axis of the necklace. At each end of the necklace there is a ring (9) which is slipped over the hooks. A disc slides on an axle (3) in the top of the block and a spring returns it to its initial position. The disc moves angularly and transversely to leave a space between the block and the end of the hook. In its initial position studs on each side of it close the hooks and prevent the rings coming off.
