PURPOSE: To enable halftone dot meshing the reproduction of a image by making a plotter perform a write operation only when each coordinate pair of the plotter exists inside an outline. CONSTITUTION: A rotated screen exists along a certain coordinate axis, and demarcates many second cells rotated by a given angle with respect to another coordinate axis. The mesh of the rotated screen defines the sizes of cell and dot, it provides an output dot having a typical resolution of dot in an output image, so that the internal coordinates of each cell are given. Each output dot consists of many 3rd dots generated by a laser plotter 26 that moves along coordinate axes. Then, the laser plotter 26 is controlled to perform writing to all the positions inside the dot outline defined by a lookup table 22 and not to perform writing at all the positions outside the dot outline. |
