PURPOSE:To provide a castable refractory consisting essentially of a magnesia- calcia clinker and a magnesia clinker, preferably usable as a lining material of various kinds of ceramic furnaces for iron manufacture and steel manufacture and excellent in resistance to burning. CONSTITUTION:The sintered magnesia-calcia clinker is a castable refractory and has >=97wt.% total content of MgO, CaO and Fe2O3 and has a chemical composition consisting of 30-90wt.% MgO, 2-5wt.% Fe2O3 and 0.5-3wt.% TiO2. The castable refractory has coating of calcium phosphate and magnesium phosphate on the surface and sintered magnesia-calcia clinker content in the mixture is at least 20wt.% and total content of MgO and CaO in the mixture is >=80wt.% and weight % increase ratio which shows resistance to burning of the sintered magnesia-calcia clinker is <=0.5wt.%. |
