PURPOSE: To obtain a moisture barrier and its preparation which is non-toxic, which is suitable for use inside the body and outside the body and which can be used for example as a part of foodstuffs or for pharmaceutics. CONSTITUTION: A film comprises particles of dispersible lipid (74-95 wt.% of the film) dispersed in an edible biopolymer (26-5 wt.% of the film). The total water content of the film is less than 5 wt.%. The film can be made by casting and then drying an emulsion. |
