MEDICAL SUCTION CONTROLLER JAR

The suction controller jar assembly has a jar (1) bearing an inlet spigot (4) for connection to suction therapy collection apparatus (33, 35, 36). The jar assembly is screwed into the base of a suction controller (30) by means of screw threads (5). Fluids entering the jar assembly may contain liquids which are extracted and retained in the lowest part of the jar (29). Fluid then flows through filter material (15) which removes particles of microorganism size or larger before leaving the jar assembly and entering the suction controller (30). Should sufficient liquid be collected in the jar bottom (29), the float valve (7) rises to cut off the suction controller (30) and vacuum source from potentially contaminant material.
