The device consists of a key (1) made up of a bundle of optical fibres coated with resin opaque to infra-red radiation. The lower face of the key is pierced by holes along the same axis as some of the optical fibres. The combination of the holes forms the key's code. This piece is coated in a second layer of diffusing resin. The contact face of the element thus obtained is designed so that the ends of the fibres protrude. The key fits into a control box (2) comprising the reader (18) of the key, control electronics and connector pins (17). USE/ADVANTAGE - In all electrical control switch, cards, code or remote control systems. Combines existing advantages of simplicity, reliability and miniaturisation without need to memorise a code.
