PURPOSE:To obtain an oscillation gyroscope, which can accurately detect a rotating angular velocity. CONSTITUTION:Piezoelectric elements 14a, 14b and 14c are formed on the side surface of an equilateral-traingle shaped columnar vibrating body 12. The vicinities of the nodes of the vibrating body 12 are supported with supporting members 22 and 24. A driving signal is applied on the piezoelectric element 14a, and the vibrating body 12 is bent and vibrated in the direction perpendicular to the forming surface of the piezoelectric element 14a. The piezoelectric elements 14b and 14c are used for detecting the bending and vibrating directions of the vibrating body 12. When the vibrating body 12 is rotated with the axis of the vibrating body as the center, the bending and vibrating direction of the vibrating body 12 is changed with Coriolis force. Either of the detecting piezoelectric elements 14b or 14c is arranged at a position, which is approximately perpendicular to the bending and vibrating direction. |
