A door lock cover (1) has right (3) and left (3') passages for the active part of the bolt (2). The bolt has a symmetrical section which allows turning of its bevelled edge. An adjuster for the bolt projection is located at the other end of the bolt and locked by a screw (6). Locking is obtained by fastening the manoeuvring piece (4) by a locking rod (7) activated by a slide (9) laterally displaced by the locking cylinder (10). The end of the locking rod, in its locking position, fits in a bore (8) in the manoeuvring piece. The slide has an inclined slot (12) which fits the rod finger (11), transforming slide lateral displacement to vertical rod movement. ADVANTAGE - The lock may be positioned on the right or left of a door opened by pushing or pulling. The projecting bolt may be adjusted when the door is closed.
