The machine for sorting rubble from building sites and for removing the dust from the rubble has a rotating drum which receives the rubble. A suction pipe (6) connected to a fan which generates an air stream (L) removes dust and light material from the rubble and delivers it to a separator. The separator separates light material such as paper cardboard etc. from the dust. A second fan which generates a second airstream (L2) delivers air through a duct (8) which flows into the drum in the region of the suction pipe (6) and creates a turbulence which improves the separation of dust from the rubble.
