The female half has a plastics bush (8) extending part of the way through the strip (3), and with a flange (9) bearing against its top surface. It is held by an enclosing plate (10) on the strip underside. A set of claws (11) inside the bush bear via their outside surfaces (27) at the bottom against a cone face (14) in bush, and by which they are pressed radially inwards. At their top ends (13) they are integral with a cap (15), on which is an outer ring (16) enclosing the bush, and sliding axially on it. The claws are coupled to the top part of the bush by a spring holding their bottom ends against the cone face, and which consists of two flexible curved bars (17) formed at the top edge (18) of the bush. Their ends bear against bosses (21) on the cap. ADVANTAGE - Corrosion-resistant, uses minimum number of plastic components, and is easily assembled without external aids.
