PURPOSE:To uniform the unevenness by the detecting sensitivity characteristic natural to a photomultiplier and highly precisely display an interest area by comparing the detecting sensitivity characteristic of the photomultiplier by a light source with a preliminarily determined ideal sensitivity characteristic data. CONSTITUTION:A correcting circuit 30 forms an output approximate curve by an output curve forming circuit 31 on the basis of the detection signal amplified and A/C-converted by an input circuit 20 and the light emission control signal from a controller 32. The formed curve is compared with an ideal curve stored in an ideal curve memory 33, and a regulation data is formed by a correction value forming circuit 34 and stored in a correction data memory 35. The amplified and A/D-converted output signal from the circuit 20 is regulated in the corresponding regulating quantity by a stored regulating curve when passed through the memory 35, and transmitted to a position calculating circuit 40. The position signal outputted from the circuit 40 is spot-displayed on an indicator, this is accumulated for a scheduled time, and the regulated display position of the detection signal of a photomultiplier is outputted to the indicator.
