PURPOSE:To prevent any scratch from being sustained on the face in making an air bag maintain its pliantness so well by using a ground fabric made up of twining a short fiber into the surface of a synthetic fiber fabric by means of a high pressure jet water current as a face contact side ground fabric for the air bag. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic fiber fabric 2 is made up of a tissue such as plain weave with spun yarn of a polyester fiber or the like as synthetic fiber filament. A short fiber such as a polyamide fiber or the like is twined into a surface of this synthetic fiber fabric 2 by way of making a high pressure jet water current flow in the arrow direction, through which a short fiber layer 3 is formed up without using a bonding agent. In this air bag ground fabric 1, the short fiber is twined in a fabric surface, so that a touch of this fabric surface becomes softened, so even if an air bag surface comes into contact with the face, such a possibility that the air bag surface is made contact with the face and a scratch might be produced on the face is very little if such happens. |
