The fan includes drive shaft with drive disc joining this shaft to the drive member. The drive disc (28,30) has several elongated openings (44) which are placed on a common arc of a circle. Through these openings pass respectively, a hook (50) that is part of the back section of the cowl (18) that engages on the rear of the disc after the cowl has been rotated in relation to the disc(28,30). A peg (62) is then inserted into a hole (54) in the cowl which engages in the slot (44) of the disc to prevent the two parts from becoming disengaged. This locking action can also be enacted by a spring clip (170). Use/Advantage - As a means of fitting a cooling fan onto an electric motor drive as used in motor vehicles where the method of fixing takes up little space.
