The cover comprises a panel (1) with inserts, e.g. in the form of tubes, in the outer edges (2,3) which allow it to be held in place by clamping the edges inside the vehicle's front doors. The panel may be pref. made from a multilayer material, e.g. a thermoplastic film, a layer of aluminium foil and a layer of a nowoven textile, while the inserts may be fitted into hemmed edges or made in the form of extrusions with lengthwise slits, clamped onto the edges. The lower portions (9) of the cover's edges are pref. cut-off to adapt it to the shape of the vehicle bodywork. ADVANTAGE - Wide range of applications are obtd. for protection against differing conditions; and is also suitable for use on stationary aircraft or helicopters.
