<p>Hardened ore pellets are produced from powder or granules mixed with hot bitumen and/or mineral oils compacted warm in a pelletting machine, by a thermal after treatment consisting of passing the warm pellets together with ore powder of up to 5mm diam. through a rotary shaft furnace. In the kiln a counter current gas stream at 250 - 450 degrees C is maintained. After passage through the kiln the powder and pellets are separated by sieving. The pellets produced are mechanically strong and are particularly suitable for subsequent passing through a reduction furnace.</p> |
