PURPOSE:To absorb the vehicle acceleration and shock which are applied when a shift lever is changed over from N to D position and from N to R position. CONSTITUTION:In a vehicle including a joint having a creep torque such as a torque converter, a fluid joint, etc., a backward/forward movement change- over mechanism 4 composed of a planetary gear, a clutch, and a brake, and a continuously variable transmission 5 having a belt and a pulley, when change- over of a shift selector to a forward or backward movement position from a neutral or parking position is performed, at least one of a primary pulley pressure and a secondary pulley pressure in the non-stage transmission 5 is increased to cause a creep torque of the joint to be absorbed by a frictional brake force between the belt and the pulley. |
