This relates to a modification of polyvinyl pyrolidone photosensitive for black matrix formed on the fluorescent plate of a color CRT. The modification comprises (A) adding 0.01-10% monoor divalent cation metal salt of nitrate, sulfate or hydrochlorate in polyvinyl pyrolidone; (B) mixing well at room temp. and adding ammonia solution and making pH 7-10; and (C) forming metal hydroxide. When the above photosensitive material is put in a developer such as H2O2, dilute sulfuric acid, and sulfamic acid, formed metal hydroxide reacts the developer first and accelerates decomposition of polyvinyl pyrolidone. In developing, linearity of physical property of polyvinyl pyrolidone is advanced.
