PURPOSE:To know whether or not an electronic mail is received in the electronic mail system which sends and receives electronic mails without accessing a computer system by connecting user terminals and the computer by a telephone communication network by utilizing the computer system. CONSTITUTION:Users make access from the terminals through the telephone communication network 9 and are connected to a central processing unit 1 through modems 6-1 to 6-n, NCUs 5-1 to 5-n, and a communication processor 4. Electronic mails thus accessed are stored in an electronic mail storage device 2. The user who wishes for the reporting of electronic mail arrival by a telephone registers the telephone number of a reception reported destination in a telephone number storage device 3. The central processing unit 1 once knowing that the user to whom the electronic mail arrives is registered for the reception reporting service by a telephone takes the registered telephone number out and sends it to a speech reporting device 7, which reports the arrival of the electronic mail through the NCU 8 and telephone network 9. |
