PURPOSE:To obtain the photosensitive body and the image forming method capable of rapidly and stably forming a polymer image can imagewise exposed parts by forming the photosensitive body containing a reducing agent of a borate compound and imagewise exposing and heating it to form polymer parts on the imagewise exposed parts. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive body 1 has on a support 2 a photosensitive layer 1 and this layer 1 is imagewise exposed to light selected in the sensitive wavelength region of silver halide, that is, 50-900nm, and a latent image 3 is formed. The light source to be used is embodied by sunlight, a halogen lamp, a xenon lamp, a tungsen lamp, a fluorescent lamp, and the like. The photosensitive body 1 is uniformly heated at the same time of the imagewise exposure or after that to cause oxidationreduction reaction between the organic silver salt and the-reducing agent, and as a result, free radicals are released to polymerize a monomer through a chain transfer agent, and the polymer parts 4 are formed. |
