1324224 Rock drill assembly ATLAS COPCO AB 31 Aug 1971 [8 Sept 1970] 40492/71 Heading B3C A rock drill assembly comprises a first bar 3 pivotally attached to a drill boom 2, 4, a second bar 5 slidably mounted on the first bar, and a third bar 8 slidably mounted on the second bar, the third bar supporting a drill 10 and a feed device 11 for feeding the drill along the third bar, actuating means 18 being provided for moving the bars 5, 8, together relative to bar 3 for longitudinally displacing the drill, and for moving the bar 8 relative to bar 5 so as to extend the feed. A drill rod centralizer 6, and a spur 7 for resting against the rock surface, are provided. Drill 10 is mounted on a slide 9 which is adapted to be fed along bar 8 by the feed device 11, the latter comprising a piston and cylinder which is connected to the slide by one or more chains. A hose reel 12 is moved along bar 8 by means of device 11 simultaneously with drill 10 but at half the speed, the reel being adapted to check the tension in the hoses which supply drill 10 with compressed air and flushing medium. An intermediate drill centralizer 13 is provided. |
