PURPOSE:To permit the repeated use of hydrogen between plural heat treating furnaces at the time of executing heat treatment of occluding hydrogen into a metallic material and thereafter discharging the hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:The objective heat treating device is provided with plural heat treating furnaces 11 executing hydrogen occluding treatment into a metallic material and hydrogen discharging treatment, hydrogen storing means 12 constituted of a hydrogen storage alloy storing hydrogen, changing means selectively communicating one of the plural heat treating furnaces to the hydrogen storing means 12, a pressure sensor 15 and a temp. sensor 16 measuring the internal pressures and internal temps. of the heat treating furnaces 11 and hydrogen storing means 12 and controlling means 17 controlling the internal pressures or temps. of the heat treating furnaces 11 and hydrogen storing means 12 on the basis of the detected signals of each sensor 15 and 16 and executing the supply of hydrogen to the heat treating furnaces and its discharge in accordance with the treating state of the heat treating furnaces.
