The equalising takes place by irreversible switching of at least one equalising component (4) from conductive to insulating state, or vice versa. The integrated circuit has a control (2) for receiving respective signals. According to the received signals, the control unit carries out the equalising by renderings a switching path of the equalising component conductive. Pref. the irreversible switching of the equalising component takes place by high current load. The component may contain an equalising element and the switching path. A resistor may be coupled in parallel to the equalising element, while the switching path, i.e. a thyristor or transistor, is in series to the equalising element. ADVANTAGE - Small number of terminals, even after packaging, without costly adjustment of testing needles.
