<p>Disclosed is a nucleotide sequence encoding an enzyme having acyl-ACP thioesterase activity comprising nucleotides 169-1269 of the sequence shown in Figure 1 or functional equivalents thereof. Also disclosed is a polypeptide possessing said enzyme activity, vectors, host cells, and transgenic plants comprising the novel nucleotide sequence, together with a method of altering the characteristics of a plant and a method of producing the enzyme.</p> |
