ELECTRIC DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To provide an electric discharge lamp lighting circuit which can start stable oscillation and prevent a transistor from increasing the collector dissipation. CONSTITUTION:A series circuit comprising a DC power supply 2 and a choke coil 4 is connected to the intermediate tap (t) of the first coil L1 of an oscillation transformer and a first and a second transistor 5, 6 are connected to both ends of the first coil L1. A current absorption circuit comprising a resistor 7 and a condenser 8 which absorbs base currents supplied from the DC power supply 2 when the power is turned on is provided between the DC power supply 2 and each base of the first and/or second transistor 5 and/or 6. The bases of the first and second transistors and a return coil L3 are connected together to turn off one of the first or second transistors and to turn on the other. The second coil L2 of the oscillation transformer outputs power to light an electric discharge lamp 10.
