PURPOSE:To obtain a compact rubber reinforcing metal cord having a double twisted filament structure excellent in corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance, hence enabling increased durability and lightening of a tire, a conveyer, a high pressure rubber hose, etc. CONSTITUTION:Two metal filaments 1 are twisted after reforming and the two metal filaments are given, in addition to a reform by twisting, a spiral and waving reform having a pitch of 0.2-0.50 time as long as that of a twisted cord, 0.05-0.25mm height in the direction of the diameter of the filament and the same wave winding direction as that of the twisting. As metal cords thus obtained absorb external energy by spring effect of minute reforms given to each metal filament and relax external force to them, fatigue resistance against repeated simple bending and compression bending is enhanced. Each filament contacts discontinuously and rubber penetrates through clearances between contacts to increase rubber coating rate, thus to enhance corrosion resistance.
