The cap (11) can be made from glass. It has on the inside a seal and guide for fitting the closure on the top edge of the container. The seal and guide can be made from plastics, pref. integral,with releasable coupling to the cap. The seal (12) can be detachably fixed in a square opening (16) in the base of the cap. The guide elements have studs (13) which form a bayonet lock with suitably shaped guide grooves in the upper container edge.
