PURPOSE:To obtain an electric double layer capacitor with large capacity and low internal resistance by a method wherein a conductive rubber is used as a collector and a metal net body is arranged on its outside surface. CONSTITUTION:A carbon-based polarizing electrode 2, an untreated collector 5 which is composed of a conductive uncross-linked rubber and a metal net body 6 are heated and compression-bonded simultaneously or in arbitrary order; a laminated body in which the collector 5 composed of the conductive uncross-linked rubber has been sandwiched between the carbon-based polarizing electrode 2 and the metal net body 6 is formed. Then, one pair of laminated polarizing electrodes 2 are arranged in such a way that inside surfaces of the polarizing electrodes 2 are faced; a separator 3 is laid and mounted between the inside surfaces. Then, an untreated frame member 4 which is composed of a nonconductive uncross-linked rubber is heated and compression-bonded to the outer circumferential face of the polarizing electrodes 2; the polarizing electrodes 2 and the separator 3 are united; after that, the polarizing electrodes 2 are impregnated individually with an electrolytic solution. Thereby, an electric double layer capacitor whose performance is uniform can be manufactured with good efficiency. |
