The assembly extension (11), together with a clasp (12) releasably attached to it, holds the spare wheel (7). A ventilating pipe (24) as tank reinforcement is connected both to the upper tank wall (2) and the floor wall (3). To the clasp (12) a lock(14) is fitted for securing on the assembly extension. The spare wheel (7) is held on the fuel tank (1) between a bumper bearer (26) and a rear axle cross bearer (25) of the vehicle. The venting pipe (24) with the upper tank wall is connected near to the fuel tank fixture (20). USE/ADVANTAGE - For motor vehicles, a simple method involving the fuel tank holding the spare wheel which can be positioned and removed from the outside easily.
