PURPOSE:To improve the resolution of a solid-state pickup unit with pickup elements provided with light shielding bodies, by sampling and holding signals by removing clock components and bias charge components. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of CCD pickup elements 11 is held by sample holding circuit 13, the output of which has its clock component removed. The output is held via 1H delay line 16 by sample holding circuit 18, whose output and the output of holding circuit 13 are supplied to clamping circuits 21 and 20 respectively. Here, both the signals are so clamped that the inlcluded signals of elements with light shielding bodies will be held at the same potential. Those outputs, therefore, consist of only video components with clock components and bias charge components removed. Next, those two video signals are separated into respective color signals by sample holding circuits 28-31. Thus, an influence of variation in bias charge of the 1H delay line is removed and the resolution can be improved. |
