The subject of the present invention is an anti-smell and/or anti-insect candle. It consists of a container (1) which is open towards the top, containing a mass (2) of paraffin wax containing one or more wicks (3) and in which an anti-smell agent, based on zincous salt of ricinoleic acid and/or one or more anti-insect agents combined with citronella, as well as, optionally, antiseptic, anti-stress, antiasthma or other active principles have been incorporated, the surface of the paraffin wax and the edge of the container being covered with a film (4) capable of floating on the molten paraffin wax and of preventing the flowing of the latter if the candle is tilted. It is intended for producing decorative candles exhibiting reduced risks of fire or of burns and which make it possible effectively to combat smells and insects. <IMAGE>
