The invention relates to a dentibuccal hygiene accessory enabling the dental surfaces to be cleaned by the simple act of chewing. It consists of a base or excipient which is sufficiently tough to be able to be chewed and an active portion which will clean the dental surfaces. This active portion will contain hard particles which may, for example, be food fibres. The base will consist chiefly either of base gum or of a gelatin paste.
