PURPOSE:To minimize the power consumption and to attain excellent white balance control with continuity timewise in the image pickup device in which picture information is revised for a prescribed period timewise intermittently. CONSTITUTION:Picture information read intermittently for a prescribed period from an image pickup element 3 is fed to a color temperature detection circuit 14 via a signal processing circuit 4. An integration value of the color signal as the color temperature information detected by the color temperature detection circuit 14 is read by a micro processing unit (MPU) 15 and a gain control data ROM 16 is used to output gain control data of a color signal according to the color temperature information of one preceding pattern read intermittently. |
