<p>PURPOSE: To enable typing and pointing operation without putting the hands away from the home columns of the keyboard by providing a typing mode and a pointing mode for operation. CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor system 234 detects a key switching being opened and closed by scanning a key stitch array 232. After the scanning is completed, the result is checked to measure whether or not the key switch state has changed and when the change is made, control is passed to a specific step so as to measure which key switch state has changed. In a decision key step, the change is analyzed to determine whether its binary key code had better be transferred to a computer if the change is made. In this case, the change of the key switch is processed and then it is determined whether or the keyboard operation mode had better be changed between the typing and pointing modes.</p> |
