The invention relates to a communications system for remote connections in which a storage device with receiver-specific storage regions can be connected to the communications system via a/b connections. Incoming links are connected to the receiver-specific storage regions by means of the call deviation system via subscriber connection ports (PTP1...PTPy, SLMP1... SLMPx) of the communications system to which no internal terminals are connected. It is thus possible subsequently to equip existing communications systems with only a minor change in message transmission procedures for e.g. the receiver-specific storage of fax messages.
