PURPOSE:To reduce the current capacity of a relay which forms a switch circuit by charging a capacitor at the charging time constant of the value larger than the discharging time constant, applying the discharging current to the field winding of a motor and braking the motor. CONSTITUTION:When switch circuits S1, S2 are shifted to a contact (a) side, the input side of a full-wave rectifier H is connected to an AC power source E. A CR series circuit having a capacitor C and a resistor R1 and a resistor R2 are connected in series with the output of the rectifier H to form a charging circuit which has the resistors R1, R2, thereby charging the capacitor C. When the switch circuits S1, S2 are shifted to a contact (b) side, a discharging circuit which has the resistor R1, the contact (b) of the switch circuit S1, the field winding of the motor M and the contact (b) of the switch circuit S2, the charge stored in the capacitor C is discharged through the discharging circuit to brake the motor M. |
