摘要 PURPOSE:To achieve the high level fuel consumption efficiency by maintaining the stratification and the optimum air/fuel ratio in the respective cylinders of an engine, and minimizing the pumping loss. CONSTITUTION:In an intake device of an engine, an arrangement is made so that combustion chambers 13, 14 of two cylinders 11, 12 where the suction stroke and the compression stroke are mutually overlapped may be communicable with each other through a communicating passage 15 provided with a control valve 16, and the excessive air in the combustion chamber of the cylinder which is in the compression stroke may be introduced into the combustion chamber of the cylinder which is in the compression stroke by opening the control valve 16 under the low-load operation. And the respective cylinders 11, 12 are provided with intake ports 21, 23 near the communicating passage 15, and intake ports 22, 24 far from the communicating passage. Under the low-load operation, the fuel injection is set so that the fuel injection from the intake ports 22, 24 which are far from the communication passage 15 may be more than that from the intake ports 21, 23 which are close to the communicating passage 15.
