PURPOSE:To resolve problems such as the reduction of throughput for each information input device, the consumption of a battery and labor for inputting data again by executing optical communication while combining the information input/output device provided with a means to enable optical communication, and a MODEM device. CONSTITUTION:Data inputted from an information input/output device 1 are transferred to a MODEM device 2 by optical communication, the contents of the data are stored in a storage device 3, and the data are transmitted to a public line 4. The data transmitted to the line 4 are received by a MODEM device 5. The device 5 stores the received data in a storage device 6 and transfers the data to a host computer 7 by optical communication. When the data can be successfully transmitted to the device 5, this is recorded in the storage device 3 by the device 2. Further, when the data can be successfully transmitted to the computer 7, this is recorded in the storage device 6 by the device 5. On the other hand, data are transferred from the computer 7 to the device 1 as well. Since data communication is enabled between the device 1 and the computer 7 only by wiring the public line, the operability of the information input device, the reliability of communication and communication speed can be improved. |
