The heel shown by the figure has a hard core (1) with its flat surface (1c) lying against the inside surface of the closable cover (9) of a flexible envelope (6), made of a strong layer of soft material with a high inherent-damping coefficient, which surrounds the core. When the heel sole is manufactured separately, the envelope has its maximum thickness in the no-load state at the envelope cover (5a). When the heel sole is manufactured as part of the heel, the envelope has its maximum no-load thickness at the sole (5). The envelope is parallel (21) to the outer faces of the core and extends round all sides of the heel. The heel is attached to the surface (5) by means of a screw (3), nails and adhesive bonding, with a hard plastic ring (10) round the screw. |
