The engagement relay includes a switch cover (12) which receives the two main current contacts. The main current contacts are formed as contact bolts (14) secured against rotation. The contact bolts have an area (22), at the side facing the contact chamber, of a thicker diameter. The thicker area has an uneven surface on the side which faces away from the contact chamber. The uneven faces engage apertures (30) on the inside of the switch cover. ADVANTAGE - Despite reduced mounting space for switch cover torque is safely conducted away from main current contact.
