TRUNK TESTING SYSTEM

The apparatus has functions for interfacing trunks with a centralized automatic report on trunks, for testing analog transmission characteristics and for testing digital transmission characteristics. The apparatus includes an analog subsciber interface (5) for interfacing subscriber and an exchange to call far end responder trunk testing apparatus, a digital trunk interface (6) for interfacing digital trunks to test digital link, a control port to interface with centralized automatic reporting on trunks, an internal dial-up modem post for communicating with far end responder trunk testing apparatus, a test unit (3) for testing trunks and for sending the test result to an access switching maintenance processor (ASMP), and an interface unit (2) for interfacing the test unit (3) with the ASMP to send test data and test instructions.
