PURPOSE:To provide the automatic discriminating device with effective sound capable of accurately discriminating between music and announce signals at all times. CONSTITUTION:The automatic discriminating device with effective sound is provided with a soundless number discrimination means 2 detecting the number of soundless signals in the frame in the constant section of an input digital signal, a level difference discrimination means 3 detecting the level difference between L and R signals, and a soundless signal threshold value setting means 8 calculating the threshold value of the soundless signal to be used for discriminating the soundless signal of the soundless number discrimination means 2 based on the threshold value estimating soundless signals obtained based on the absolute value of the sum of L and R signals to be used in the level difference discrimination means 3 and the threshold value of the soundless signal of the current frame. Thus, the soundless signals in the soundless number discrimination means 2 can be accurately discriminated even when the input level is fluctuated. |
