摘要 The physical change produced in the substance to be detected, by the changeable effect of the radiation, such as absorption is detected. Optical means can also be used, e.g. for determining the glucose concn. of the eye chamber water. The optical activity of the glucose is used as the measurement variable. A system for carrying out the determination includes an IR source (1) and a radiation receiver (4), arranged at a suitable mutual distance to the respective body organ or skin fold i.e. subjected to an approximately constant blood flow. So that it lies close to and between the two units (1, 4). The detector signal is transmitted to a microprocessor (7) with an indicator (8) across a preamplifier (5) and an ADC (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - Non invasive determination of components of body liquids e.g. breath alcohol, lactate or glucose in body liquids e.g. blood and eye chamber water. Uses optical means enabling use of micro miniaturised electronic components.The alcohol sensor may be used to control an electronic lock or security unit.
